Governance - The ASEE Steering Committee

The ASEE is currently governed by a Steering Committee, pending formal ratification of the ASEE constitution and governing body elections, which will take place following the legal incorporation of the society and will be finalised at the first ASEE Ordinary General meeting, planned for 2005.

The ASEE Steering Committee reflects the coming together of several initiatives to establish an African Society for Ecological Economics (for a more detailed history of earlier initiatives see The Montreal Proposal and the Aberdeen Minutes posted on this site) and includes members from across the continent of Africa, bringing together a variety of backgrounds and many years of experience and commitment to this work.

The Steering Committee has responsibility for bringing ASEE to legal incorporation and for planning and administration leading to the first ASEE Ordinary General Meeting.
